40 Day's of Fitness Challenge

Hi Bloggers! I hope no one went to the end of the earth looking for me. I've been here, just not very present. You see, I've been in this slump and I just can't seem to get myself out of it. When I thought I was, I got a nasty cold followed by an even nastier eye infection. Tip: NEVER sleep with your contacts in. Lesson learned Contact Gods!

It's Holiday Season and that's helping my tude a bit. I love everything about the holidays, except the part about my clothes 'shrinking in the wash'. Not a fan of that part. To make sure my clothes fit right through the holidays and my upcoming Cabo vacation, I'm starting a 40 Day's of  Fitness Challenge!

Starting December 1, 2013 through January 18, 2014 (departure day), I will document 40 days of fitness. I haven't seen my trainer in two weeks due to the above cold/infection, but I start back up on Monday.

This plan incorporates plenty of rest days. You know, like New Years Day when you're so exhausted from all that dancing the night before (aka nursing a hangover day). Or Christmas Day when you are soo busy wearing all the clothes Santa gave you and eating all the candy from your stocking.

In short, you'll be seeing more of me around these parts. They'll just be in shorter updates to my personal challenge with some holiday updates mixed in. As for the remainder of the week? I'm out homies! Heading North in search of Santa's work shop so I can tell him just want to put under the tree this year. Or, I'm really heading to Wisco where I'll be in a turkey coma for a few days enjoying this cart full of Thanksgiving necessities!

Happy Thanksgiving you little turkeys!

Be Thankful.

Weekend Review

It's been a little while since I've been here, so here's a little recap of what's been going on.

Last weekend I went to Summit Brewery with my cousin Erin and then we went to Moscow on the Hill for dinner. In hindsight, we should have done dinner first, then the brewery, but Summit closes at 8:00, so our time was limited. If you go to Moscow on the Hill, I highly suggest the Chicken Kiev. It was so delicious!

After we ate, we met up with one of our cabin neighbors, Genna, who was out and about and happened to be next door. So we hopped over to Costello's for half a beer before they kicked everyone because their toilets backed up and shit was literally flowing into the bar area. What a crappy situation to be in! Haha, I'm so funny.

Sunday was a rather nice day. The weather was perfect and my parents were doing some chores around the house in preparation for their trip. While my dad replaced the gutters, me and my mom enjoyed some wine on the deck, raked some leaves and ended the day chatting in the porch.

Sometimes you just need that mother/daughter time to chat. Even though I live at home and see my parents every day, it's really not that often that we just sit down and chat. Between work, gym, chores/errands, cooking, there's not a whole lot of time during the day that we are together and can just talk about what's going on. This was the perfect day for just that.

This past week has been interesting. My parents left for Istanbul, Turkey on Tuesday so I've been running the house, taking care of the dogs, making dinner...wait, I always make dinner. There's just a different feel when it's just me and the dogs and I think the dogs notice it too.

Miley has been stuck to me and will not leave me alone. This is usually how we spend our time together now that I'm her only human around.

If I don't let her lay on me, she'll sit on the ottoman and wine until I make room for her. Such a spoiled little girl.

There really is not much to catch up on from this past weekend. I literally didn't do anything. Friday I make some spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, had a couple glasses of wine and was in bed by 9:30.

Saturday I asked everyone I know that wasn't already busy what they were doing, and everyone already had plans. Then I found a friend who sucked me in by offering pizza so I headed to the warehouse district for some Pizza Luce and a movie. Once again, home early to hang with the pups.

Since I didn't get my fill of socializing Saturday, I once again sent out a mass text asking if anyone wanted to have a little Sunday Funday and watch the Vikings get their ass handed to them once again. I ended up meeting an old friend in St. Paul at BWW which was perfect because had he not invited me, I was just going to go to the BWW by my house. I didn't know I was crashing a 'guys day' or a birthday celebration, but it all worked out. At least I knew a few of the guys that were there, so I didn't feel like a total party crasher.

I got home around 5:00, had a fire, watched some Hallmark movies and put myself to bed at 8:00. I am getting really old. I went to bed at 8:00 PM. Like, I was actually asleep at that time. But, it's Monday morning and I feel totally rested for this busy week ahead of me. M: Gym, T: Cocktail party at Chambers/LeMeridian, W: Gym, Th: Pack, F: Friends weekend at the ol cabin. Bring on the flannel and fur hats!
