Wedding Shower

This post is way past due, but better late than never eh?

In September my mom, sisters and I hosted a wedding shower for my cousin Ariana. We were all honored to be able to host this shower for her. It took a lot of emails back and forth but we finally came up with a rather original idea. A Happy Hour Shower!

As guests arrived, they were asked to fill out a name tag

And also take a game card, if you will

We informed the guests that there would be two games going on throughout the Happy Hour. The first was a taste test of sparkling beverages, red wine, and 'dessert' beer.

We started with a sample of Cava, California Champagne, and Asti that went with the cheese and olive portion of the meal

Each type of beverage had a matching numbered glass to go with the number on the game board

The second round was Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet to go with the main course

So delicious!

Guests sat themselves at one of three tables

After plates were licked clean, everyone was moved into the living room for round three, dessert!

Dessert beer was Crispin Hard Cider, New Glarus Raspberry Tart and New Glarus Cherry Ale

One thing I didn't capture is the second game we had going. A 'sniff' test. We had 12 different spices in little jars that people had to smell. It went off really well, and since it went throughout the evening, no one's noses were overwhelmed by all the smell testing.

As guests departed, they were given a little takeaway.

 Rosemary Salt

Rosemary: The herb of fond remembrance

Little did we know, Rosemary would be placed at each place setting at the wedding too.

Congratulations on your wedding Ari!
