USA!

I'm not one to really talk politics, but I'm very happy with the way that yesterday's election turned out. Especially in the great state of Minnesota. Both of the amendments on the ballot failed.

If you aren't from Minnesota then you may or may not have heard that the first amendment was to ban gay marriage and to change the constitution to say marriage in the state of Minnesota can only be between one man and one woman.

I'm so proud to be from this great state, and got a little emotional reading all the comments and hearing peoples response to the amendment failing. Way to represent MN!

Now on to less important things.

I got in a super great run the other night!

*Runs for me now are just to get in shape, not for speed, distance, training etc. Race season is done up here until April-ish when hopefully snow is melting and temps are in the 30-40's.

I didn't change the Nike+ app to say I was running on a treadmill before I started and it wasn't an option after, so it looks like I was running around like a crazy person after drinking a 24 pack of Mountain Dew. I felt so good on this run, I was rather proud of myself.

I followed up my run with my core challenge.

I'm on day 4, and I like the challenge. It feels good to end my work out with. However, I don't see those abs of steel yet. What gives?? J/K, I know you can't get them overnight...

In my effort to get those abs though, I've been doing a great job of eating better. I'm making sure to eat breakfast every day.

I'll either eat a banana with some skim cottage cheese or a Cliff Bar during the week.

Eating breakfast has always been a challenge for me. I was always naturally thin, and never hungry in the morning. Then 25 hit, I got fat and lazy and ate McD's hashbrowns and a large coke for breakfast. Clearly that wasn't working. I'm actually really enjoying the cottage cheese and banana in the morning though.

And just because I love this little fur ball too much, here's a video of her trying to get my attention. I ask her if she has to go potty, to find out, she was just hungry and her bowl was empty.

Happy Day After Election/Hump Day!
