Not so clean eating

I mentioned not long ago that I really want to try and eat clean. I did great the first 24 hours, but then I went out to celebrate mine and Laura's birthdays, and ordered a pizza in the cab on my way home. I scarfed down two pieces of deep dish pepperoni pizza and all of the breadsticks and went to bed feeling horrible that I failed so early on, and horrible that I just blew $20 on something that I didn't really want or need at all.

Since I'm on such a tight budget, I couldn't bring myself to throw away 3/4 of a pizza so I ate it for lunch at work, even though I had this great chicken meat all ready to go, and a new bunch of romaine lettuce to have with it.

One thing I thought was going to be my biggest struggle was dining out, or going to someones home for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to my aunt's house last night and she had a Greek salad, with olives, onions, feta cheese and a Greek viniagret dressing, chicken adobo, rice and fruit, followed by carrot cake cupcakes.

I'll have about an hour between work and volleyball tonight to make a healthy meal for my dinner and prep lettuce for my lunch tomorrow. Side note: We have another play off game tonight and if we win we go to the championship which is also tonight! But, that also means two hours between games, at a bar, with yummy greasy food, and beer...lots of beer and margaritas. Oh the temptations!

Ok, focus, back to the topic at hand. Basically I'm horrible at staying on track, but I will get there, and I'm going to let you know how this little journey goes.

I'll be heading to the cabin for Labor Day weekend and I really want to try this recipe for the family.

I'm loving anything you can cook in a crock pot these days. Especially since my fire alarm goes off every time I start my oven because it gets so hot in my little apartment.
